"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain"
The Wizard is President-Elect Donald Trump.
The man behind the curtain is Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence, not to mention Congress, Trump's cabinet and agency appointees, etc.
I've decided to ignore the Wizard as much as possible, and to focus on the folks behind the curtain, because that's where most of the incoming government's decisions are going to be made.

I've decided not to visit the Emerald City at all. I'm in denial, and I'm not looking on either side of the curtain. I live in CT and my head-of-state is Gov. Dan Malloy, not the scary clown about to take the reins of power in Washington.
Unfortunately, David, we're stuck with the folks on both sides of the curtain in "Emerald City." And we may have to consider visiting there, lest we lose our health care, among other benefits, services, and/or programs. I've never been big on political activism, but this election may force me to change my mind.
I suspect that this is especially true as to the prose of government- the budgetary decisions that President Trump will no doubt find too boring for his limited attention span. I've already read a rumor that Heritage Foundation types are hijacking the budget.
Woodrow, I agree that President Trump delegates the details, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that just about any right-wing organization is planning to throw a monkey-wrench into our federal government. At the moment, I'm glad I'm live in New York, even though that probably means we'll see increases in our state taxes to pay for programs that the feds will no longer fund.
